THE GREATEST NEED OF
EVERY PERSON: JESUS In
order to be a member of the Bethel
Baptist Church
family, a person must first be a member of God’s Family (His Kingdom).
The
Bible explains that everyone is separated from God because of their sin
(thoughts, words, or actions that are wrong according to God). Romans 3:23
The
only way for God to forgive sin is for someone to pay the price, and the price
is death. Romans 6:23
God
sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the Earth to live a sinless life, die on a cross
to pay for the sin of all humanity, be buried, and conquer death by rising from
the grave. Jesus did all these things
perfectly. Romans 5:8
God
offers forgiveness of sin and eternal life to anyone who repents of their sin
(willfully turns away from their sin), and trusts in Jesus Christ only. A person becomes a member of God’s Family
& Kingdom by receiving this free gift of forgiveness and eternal life. This free gift is called grace, because it
cannot be earned by any actions or work.
Ephesians 2:8-10
You
can accept God’s grace by confessing with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and
believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9-10
Every
person must make this decision for themselves.
The decision is to give your life in total surrender to Jesus Christ
& receive forgiveness of sin, eternal life & membership in God’s
Family, or to reject Jesus & continue to live in your sin, accepting
eternal damnation and suffering in Hell.
Every person must choose between Heaven or Hell, life or death, Jesus or
self.
To
truly commit your life to God, you can tell Him in a simple prayer, but you
must mean it in your heart: “Dear God, I
know that I am a sinner, separated from You.
I am sorry for my sin. I believe
that Jesus Christ paid for my sin by His death on the cross. I believe that He rose from the dead. Please forgive me of my sin & give me
eternal life. Help me to live for You
all the days of my life. I surrender my
life completely to You.”
After
you pray that prayer, then tell others about the decision you’ve made. Tell the pastor about your decision. Let the whole church know about your decision
to live for Jesus, by being baptized. Use the Contact Our Office page to let us know of your decision, or to ask for help making this most important decision of life.
